Svetosavska begins online classes on Friday, 2 October 2026, at 18:00 (Belgian time).
We work with a mixed-age group of children aged 5½ to 10½.
At the same time, we are working towards establishing a Serbian supplementary school in Antwerp. We will inform you about this process and any changes to the timetable as soon as they are confirmed.
What we are exploring in October
Our October themes focus on two cities: Belgrade and Kragujevac. Through these cities, children will explore the geography of Serbia, the origins of place names, the differences between villages and cities, and the idea of a capital city, past and present. Towards the end of the month, we will also learn about Saint Petka, whose feast day is celebrated on 27 October. Her chapel at Kalemegdan is one of Belgrade’s well-known landmarks.
October also marks significant events in the recent history of both cities. We will discuss them in an age-appropriate way, through stories about freedom, peace and keeping memories alive.
Alongside these themes, we will practise the Cyrillic script using place names and short letter-recognition and writing activities.
Registration and joining the class
To register a new pupil, please email your child’s name and age to info@svetosavska.com at least one hour before the class begins — by 17:00 (Belgian time), so that we can send you the class link in good time.
We ask all participants to join a few minutes before 18:00, so that the class can start on time.
